Learn to read Punjabi
MyDesipora
MyDesipora is a self paced course to teach you to read Punjabi, whether in Gurmukhi or Shahmukhi. Each mini lesson introduces four new letters, checks you understand them, gives some vocabulary to test your skills and then move on to the next characters. To make sure it does not get overwhelming, there is a short 3 minute test to unlock the next couple of characters.
Unfortunately, this site will not teach you to speak Punjabi, and it does not cover grammar or conversation. If you do not already understand a fair amount of the spoken language the letters will still make sense, the vocabulary still has meanings but they are somewhat out of context for non native speakers.
You can learn either script: Gurmukhi, used in Indian Punjab and Shahmukhi, the Arabic script used primarily in Pakistan Punjab. They are separate courses because they are separate reading systems.

Try it first
You can start straight away, no account and no card needed. Try the first quarter of the alphabet, see if you like the method and then decide. Add an email whenever you like and your progress comes with you.
If you like it, the rest of that course is A$20, paid once. Take both scripts together and they are A$30. There is no subscription and nothing recurring.
